It’s too bad they are trying to close off the camping. In a few years it might be closed off to vehicle traffic 🙁

I haven’t been there in nearly 10 years. I was the best kept secret. Will try going back next year and do some camping . I enjoyed the write up brought up lots of good memory’s. thank you

nice write up. I was fortunate enough to have been there when I was stationed at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Center back in ’90. Absolutely gorgeous county! We got up there on Quads in early June…then back again in August with 4x4s.

The pictures can’t do it justice…truly a stunningly beautiful place. I tried fishing from shore, but no luck…glad to hear that there are fish there <

I hope that I can take my children there someday..although it'll be a trek since I live in FL now……

In reply to matt. Actually no. One thing is there is a shallow shelf along the shore which extends several feet from the bank where it drops steeply into the depths. It is a key to fishing the lake I've never been in a boat towards the middle so I don't know how deep it is out there.
